An Important Note on “Let’s Celebrate!”

The following note will be sent home to all students this week regarding our unit, “Let’s Celebrate!”

As you may know, Grade 1 has an ongoing unit called “Let’s Celebrate!” that focuses on various celebrations around the world throughout the calendar year. When we return from our October holidays we will focus on Halloween, Thanksgiving and Diwali for 4 days. Please note the following important dates and information:

  • Friday, November 2, 2012 we will celebrate Halloween with a costume parade in our classes. All students will want to have a Halloween costume. Costumes can be interesting, funny, scary, or simply creative. They do not have to be fancy or store bought. Students may want to dress like their favorite character from a book. Please note that no costumes should include toy (or real!) weapons.
  • Tuesday, November 6, 2012 students will bring a small snack to share with the class to celebrate Diwali and Thanksgiving.  Please choose healthy options for a snack and bring enough for 5-6 people to share.

    Hi,

Just noticed that November 5 is a Monday. So will the Diwali/Thanksgiving snack event be on Monday or Tuesday?

    Cheers, Brent
